The road as far as Two Lakes (located 120 km south of Grande Prairie) is passable in good weather; travel beyond Two Lakes to the Kakwa Falls parking lot requires a quad, 4-wheel drive vehicle or a skidoo. Visitors should check ahead for road conditions. Permits are required for winter snowmobile camps. Please purchase the passes at any of the dealers. For information about road conditions or to obtain a winter camp permit, contact Parks Division in Grande Prairie at 780-538-5350.
The road is maintained by Weyerhaeuser and has a 80 km speed limit , 60 km when passing a grader , and 50 km at the wrapper check station’s , and it is highly advised to have 2-way radio for mileage locations.
The Swan City Snowmobile Club took over the camp registration for the Lick Creek & Sherman Meadows Areas. (This does not include Camping inside the Park – Forestry still handles this.)
Camps CAN NOT be moved in prior to Saturday Nov 1 7:30 am as we have a signed contract with SRD and the last thing we need to do is to jeopardize this with the government , as we do not want to have the special arrangement we have terminated .
Camps are to be vacated by April 15
